Si clauses that REQUIRE the past subjunctive and conditional:

Si clauses that do NOT use the subjunctive. In order to help you recognize these grammatical patterns, translations are included:

• Si Clauses with the present indicative to speculate about situations that are POSSIBLE.
• Si Clauses with the future tense to speculate about situations that are POSSIBLE.
• Si clauses with command forms (the imperative mood) to speculate about situations that are POSSIBLE.
• Si clauses with the imperfect tense to express a situation that is NOT contrary-to-fact in the past. The imperfect is generally used for habitual actions or situations.
